‘A Vatican of Cardinals’
The cardinal bird is extravagantly dressed in gorgeous crimson red, Like a Catholic cardinal’s cassock or the hat he wears on his head. A ‘Vatican’ is their collective name or ‘a radiance’, ‘a conclave’ or ‘college’, All of which terms, I think you’ll agree, require some religious knowledge. So would the Pope frown if you used the word ‘Vatican’? Or, instead, give his blessing – if God said that he can?
